 OTHER STUFF

This section is a hodgepodge of projects that I love and just wanted to share with you.

Glacier National Park and the Anthropocene

In 2019 I was awarded an independent research grant from the Richter Scholars foundation to conduct a photographic exploration of Glacier National Park. The driving force behind this project is the idea of seeing Glacier, with its soon-to-be extinct namesake glaciers, as the real and symbolic epicenter of human-caused climate change in the United States.

The result was a self-published photo book displaying selected images from my time in the park, as well as insights from interviews with park experts. Weirdly, I haven’t gotten around to taking a photo of the actual book. But I will. I promise it’s real.

BLM PDX protests 2020

In 2020 I had the privilege of marching alongside Portland’s Black community in protest against police brutality and racism. I created a photo essay of the marches, published in the Portland Mercury.

Entrepreneurs of Oregon Founding Stories

I kicked off an interview series for EO PDX, profiling three CEOs and business owners in Portland.

“In this series, we sit down with entrepreneurs in Portland, Oregon, and ask them about their beginnings: the itch that started it all, the spark that lit the fire, the challenge they just had to square off against. With these stories, our community hopes to share with you how entrepreneurship is a lifelong journey of learning.” — eopdx.org

And here’s a photo of a loaf of bread I took for my local bakery. Because where else am I supposed to show off this masterpiece??
